* There is now a new class at the Bramcote Memorial Hall. In addition to Tuesdays 6-7.15pm there is now a class on Thursdays 5.30-6.45pm.

The new class is held in the Community Room not the main room used for the Tuesday class. Access before class will be via the side entrance to the hall. Alternatively come round the back of the building and knock at the fire exit.

*The next grading conducted by Grandmaster Loh is on Saturday 3rd December. It is taking place at the Nottingham University Sports Centre, on the main campus site. All students need to arrive promptly at 9.30am with a neat and tidy appearance (Doboks ironed and hair tied back if it is long enough to do so). The grading will finish at 12pm.

Grandmaster Loh will be conducting a training session after the grading on Saturday 3rd December 2-4pm and again on Sunday 4th December 10am-12pm. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity. We are very fortunate that Grandmaster Loh plays such an active role in our taekwondo training, it is quite unusual for someone so senior to make regular training sessions available at such a reasonable price. It is also a very good opportunity to train with different people.

*October the 23rd was the last TTA National Individuals Competition this year. It was a successful and enjoyable day (as always) especially as we had two entries from TTA Nottingham, Alexi Astachenko and Andrew Martin. We would like to thank Alexi, Andrew and Mrs Martin for making the journey to represent TTA Nottingham. Both Alexi and Andrew did very well. Andrew was called twice to perform his pattern and narrowly missed 3rd place. A very good outcome for his first competition! Congratulations Andrew.

Andrew thoroughly enjoyed the day and is planning on going to the next TTA Competition. He was so inspired by what he saw he has said he would like to enter the sparring category next time. The next event will be in April next year and although it is a National Team Sparring Competition for over 16s it is an individual sparring event for children and under 16s. It would be great to see more students from TTA Nottingham enter into future competitions. If any of you have any questions about it please come and ask us.

Mrs Martin has very kindly written a piece about the event and her and Andrews experience that weekend. It's been added to the website and I'm sure you will agree it's an enjoyable and informative read.

*A belated congratulations to all who attended the last grading (24th September). The grading experience is different for each and every student according to their individual strengths and weaknesses. I hope you are all proud of your achievements and can learn from the experience to improve for next time. A special mention to Asad Khan, Magnum Tsegaye, Alexi Astachenko, Lacey Greenwood and Zara Khaliq, who were all awarded A grade passes. Good luck for the next grading!

*Well done to all students who graded at the weekend (11th June 2011) and those that participated in the training with Grandmaster Loh. As you all progress in your Taekwondo learning I hope that you all continue to enjoy and understand both the breadth and the responsibilities that come with increasing seniority. Always remember the Tenets and Oath of Taekwondo as you aspire towards your seniors whilst setting an example for those that follow you.

*Congratulations to all who managed to brave the weather and graded this weekend (4th December 2010). Well done to all who passed with particular mention to Seo-yeon, Maddie and Alexie for achieving A grades.

I hope that you have a good opportunity to reflect on your own personal performance, think about what you feel was good and also what areas you feel that you need to work on. Taekwondo is all about your own development and it doesn't matter what grade you are, you can always continue to improve and enjoy it more which is what I hope you all do.

For all those that had the opportunity to train with Grandmaster Loh after the grading, I am sure you have learnt a great deal and also enjoyed the experience. I hope that you can now bring in all that you have learnt into your regular training.

*Congratulations to those who graded this weekend (18th September 2010). In particular well done to Freya Craig, Maddie Hicklin and Azad Khan on achieving A grades.

Grading is a test of both your Taekwondo and of your courage on the day to perform to the best of your ability. We hope that your successes this weekend will help to drive you towards achieving even greater goals. Well done again.

Pilsung.
